Public bus from Bilbao. Full-day route across Vitoria-Gasteiz old town and murals.
Vitoria-Gasteiz has been the capital city of the Basque Country since 1979, with around 261,000 inhabitants. It is a small, green and clean city and still a hidden gem to discover.
In 2007, sisters Cristina and Verónica Wreckmeister, owners of a California art gallery, launched the IMVG project with local artists to create murals across the Old City.
The result was a painted medieval quarter full of colors, hidden messages and a unique blend of historic architecture with contemporary street art.
This alternative full-day tour lets you walk through the Medieval Almond (Casco Viejo), discover walls, churches and historic buildings, and enjoy striking murals by local painters.
