The Old City of Bilbao (Casco Viejo) is a very small, medieval part of the city, with a few buildings from the 15th C., it's first Seven Medieval Streets (we, the locals call it "Zazpikaleak / The Seven Streets"), but most buildings date from the late 19th to the 20th C. It's the most authentic-touristic part of the city.
Apart from the typical touristic introduction, you might want to know the stories behind the buildings, or even better, some of the stories of the people who lived there throughout its history. Stories of famous men, respectful women, every-day-people stories.
Every city has its stories and in the Casco Viejo some walls or some buildings are hiding some very interesting stories.
