Since its opening, i n October 1997, the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, created a massive international success because of its design, put Bilbao on the map, transformed the city within a decade, in other words, created the “Guggenheim Effect” or “Bilbao Effect”. But why and how did this “Guggenheim Effect” begin in Bilbao? We visit the Museum and talk about its arquitecture and exhibitions.
Apart from the Guggenheim Effect, we will visit the Modern- Ensanche - part of the city. The Ensanche (New City) of Bilbao is full of fantastic buildings that reveal the history of its industrial era, its passion for football and its transformation.
I have created this tour for the visitors who love architecture, but not only that. If you really want to actually feel the rythm of the city by entering in its public buildings. That's why, we'll get inside Alhondiga, we'll visit the Foral Palace, the cafeteria of the Athletic football Stadium, we'll have a stroll in the most beautiful park and we'll take photographs on Zubizuri, the White Bridge. We'll use the subway and the tram to reach the Guggenheim, the miracle of Bilbao.
The tour will finish inside of the Museum, with an brief guiding of its most important galleries.
