In this tour, we will explore the French part of the Basque Country: its most cosmopolitan side in France, together with traditional fishing towns like Hondarribia and Saint-Jean-de-Luz.
A private vehicle is required. Departure can be arranged from either San Sebastian or Bilbao.
We will visit:
- Hondarribia: Casco Viejo with the Castle, colorful wooden houses, and San Pedro street with fish taverns (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes).
- Saint-Jean-de-Luz: the beach and the Church of Saint John the Baptist (approx. 1 hour 30 minutes).
- Bayonne: capital and port of the French Basque Country, with outstanding architecture in the old quarter and the Cathedral of Sainte-Marie (approx. 2 hours).
- Biarritz: former summer destination of Napoleon III and Eugénie de Montijo, with Hotel du Palais, Grande Plage, Rocher de la Vierge, and the beach casino (approx. 2 hours).
